Retreat at The Ritz Carlton

Deary and I checked ourselves into The Ritz Carlton over the weekend for a retreat before I start work. (We initially wanted Banyan Tree at Bintan, but unfortunately was fully booked.) We booked the 'Relax Spa' package which included a 45 minute massage for both of us. The room was simple with a panoramic view of Marina Bay. Loved the classy and spacious bathroom which had a bathtub with a glass panel overlooking the city skyline. It was truly an enjoyable and memorable experience!

Shaun never fails to bring us laughter & smiles. He is now making noises like 'ahhhh' & 'oohhh', as if wanting to talk. Whenever we talk to him, he'll listen with an intent gaze. Whenever he smiles or laughs, my heart will melt. My darling Shaun, when will you call 'Mummy'?

Turn up the volume to hear hungry Shaun sucking on daddy's collarbone..

Shaun practising his soccer kick?

Shaun wanting to talk..

Valentine's day

Deary and I went for dinner at Jack's Place yesterday. Enjoyed the meal very much which consisted of an appetizer & sparkling juice, soup & garlic bread, main course, dessert & coffee/tea. The ambience at Jack's Place plus the company of the love of my life, was wonderful! A pity that I'd forgotten to bring my camera. Arghh..

V-day has become very commercialised these days. From expensive flowers & restaurants to chocolates, cards and diamonds, retailers are trying to take occasions like this as an opportunity to boost sales. I personally think that buying flowers on V-day is a waste of money and just illogical. For one, flowers wither & die so fast. Also, the flower prices are exorbitant on V-day. But then again, love can sometimes be illogical, isn't it? Haha..

Singapore Flyer

The Singapore Flyer began its 'inaugural flight' on Monday. Standing at 165 meters, it is 30 meters higher than Britain's London Eye and is currently the world's biggest observation wheel. Read that there're wheels building in Beijing and Berlin that will edge out Singapore Flyer in another 2 years time. The competition begins..haha..

The wheel consists of 28 capsules, each with a capacity for up to 28 pax. Each capsule is also fully air-conditioned and UV protected. The basic admission price is at $29.50 for adults. There is also an Express Boarding and Signature Cocktail Flight which will set you back at $52 and $69 respectively for adults. Gosh, what a high price to pay for a 30 minute ride. Will you pay for the experience?

CNY Day 1

CNY day 1 was busy for us as we had to rush to 2 places for visiting. This year is slightly different as we have Shaun now. Previously, we just had to get ready and leave the house. Now it's preparing diapers, milk bottles & powder, extra set of clothes, towels and the list goes on... It was nice meeting relatives and exchanging greetings & well-wishes for the year ahead.

Ladies in red & white

Deary treated me, Jasmine & Sabrina to a movie & dinner. We watched CJ7 - my first movie of the year & also since confinement. It was quite a heart-warming & funny show. Also had dinner at Billy Bombers.

Love the ambience & furnishings at Billy Bombers!
BIG portion of fish & chips

Reality TV

Watched Survivor yesterday. Yes, it is back again! Does it ever end? This season, like previous ones, boasts it'll be a better season with a new location, creatures, contestants and plot. Season 16 is quite special, with 10 ultra-fans of the series taking on 10 former castaways to compete as FANS vs. FAVORITES, in Micronesia.

The first person voted out was Jonny Fairplay. Surprise surprise! If you're a Survivor fan, you would probably remember him. He was the notorious liar in Survivor Pearl Islands
who lied about his 'dead grandma'.

Another reality tv show that I'm watching now is Amazing Race Asia 2. The final episode will be shown on 14 Feb, 9pm. Quite impressed that team Singapore (Adrian & Collin) is still in the final 3, as Collin has a hearing disability. The duo's performance has not been exceptionally good, with only 2 1st place wins, as compared to Marc & Rovilson with 8 1st place wins. Nevertheless, all the best to Adrian & Collin!

Shaun drinking milk in his dreams?

Tuesday, February 05, 2008

Yesterday noticed Shaun sucking (as if drinking milk) whilst sleeping. So amusing. He did that for almost 5 mins before finally waking up for his milk. The sucking was accompanied by noises too! I wonder if he was having a dream in which he was drinking milk..haha..

Looking back at Shaun's photos, it is amazing to see how he has grown and changed over the weeks. Here is what I mean:

Week 1
Week 2
Week 4
Week 5

Shaun turns 2 months

How time flies! Shaun is 2 months old now (this means 1 more month before going back to work :( ). He is growing well - eyebrows & eyelashes have grown, neck getting stiffer & limbs very active. Check out the video of him lifting his head up while lying on his tummy.

Had an early CNY reunion dinner with deary's family yesterday and everyone was so happy to see Shaun. We 'deposited' Shaun at Ah-ma's house at 1pm and headed to TM and CS for some shopping.
